FTP is used for transferring files. We offer FREE access to our FTP server for users to upload image files for BowHaus digital output or to download their BowHaus scans.

In order to access our FTP server you will need ftp client software. For MAC OS X users, we recommend Fetch or Transmit. For Windows, we recommend CuteFTP.

How to use this FREE service...

  1. Install the appropriate ftp client software if needed.
  2. E-mail or call us (310-837-1200) to set up a FTP account.
  3. Call us to schedule your job or pick-up.
  4. Log in and drop off or pick up your files.

A BowHaus FTP Account is a folder on our server that requires a password to access. Typical file upload transfer rates (broadband or DSL) are 1 - 1.5 Mb/min and 2 - 2.5 Mb/min for downloading.

When connecting to our ftp server you will need to use ftp.bowhaus.com as the host and the User Id and Password you were given when you set up the account.

Important: Your free ftp User Id and Password will expire after 7 days. If you need an extension please notify customer service and we will do our best to accomodate your request.

Common FTP Connection Problems

  • Data Connection Error
This usually indicates that an internet firewall is preventing the ftp connection. You will need to disable any firewalls, during the transfer, to connect to our ftp server.

  • Port Command Error
This is usually a mode transfer issue. If passive mode transfer (PASV) is checked... Uncheck it and try again. If PASV is initially unchecked, then check it and try to connect again.

If you are still having problems accessing the site either call (310-837-1200) or e-mail us.
